While "Faded" was Alan Walker's big hit, new potential hits were released rapidly. Alan had some "hidden gems", created before signing to Sony Music. "Spectre" had shown great potential when performed live on tour. Much like "Fade" became "Faded", the track was swiftly made into "The Spectre", which included vocals, and a more elaborate production.
Warp Visuals was tasked with creating a music video for the track. The idea of the "White Walkers" (no relation to a certain TV series...) was first pitched as a rival group to the Walkers (basically a fan/follower of Alan Walker), in a previous music video that never materialized. However, the idea somewhat carried over to this production. The White Walkers has since evolved with live graphics, including flags, and appeared in Alan's videos "All Falls Down", "Darkside" and "Diamond Heart".
Alan Walker's management MER Recordings wanted a particle look, often seen with real time software NOTCH. However, on a very tight budget, we had to settle on the workhorse that is After Effects. After more than 60 green screen shots, and some very long work hours, we finally got there in the end. With over 750 million views on YouTube, we'd say the struggle was worth it. Shots from the music video was incorporated into live visuals for the coming tours.
